I am writing this affidavit in support of Mr. Gizaw Dereje Deme, (the son of Mr. Dereje Deme Saklu, who had been abducted by the Ethiopian security agents on 30 May 1994,) who applied for asylum in Norway. I, therefore, decided to make this case public as it was not well exposed by any body or any humanitarian organization on one hand, and the depth of human right abuses committed by the TPLF/EPRDF regime specially in the deep country side of Oromia continued intensively and remained uncovered by any human right group, including the Ethiopian Human Right Council on the other hand. As a result, most human right abuses committed by the TPLF in the deep country side of Oromia remain hidden from the International Community, and this in turn favored the TPLF regime to continue with more gross human right violations.
